Hyatt Place Chicago / Wicker Park

Great hotel in the city! Most of the hotels in Chicago tend to be concentrated downtown, so it’s great to have one so close to West Town and Wicker Park. This opens up a whole new part of Chicago to tourists and out of town guests. The rooms, lobby, and bar are very nice and modern. Parking is available for an additional fee (typical for Chicago) and it is valet-only. However, you can have access to your car as often and anytime that you want. Public transit-wise, the closest train station is the Division Blue line — which is a bit of a hike but not too bad. The #9 and #72 buses also pass right by the hotel. All in all, this is a great spot to consider if you are visiting town and want to see more than the standard downtown tourist sites.

Good size room, great location. Front staff were often missing, added a couple minutes waiting time to simple tasks, no biggie. Weird bed location. Can only access the bed from one side. Bedding and pillows are goooooood. Traffic noise is a problem, but also means very fast highway access and they give earplugs on nightstand. Free cookie from resturant was nice and tasty. Room 612 coffee machine outlet doesn't work.

Experienced a minor housekeeping issue and management could not have been kinder or more attentive. made sure that I was comfortable for the remaining duration of my stay, turning a small stumble moment into an above and beyond experience. stayed here many times, the rooftop bar is amazing and the staff rocks. street noise can be disruptive at times, but nothing one wouldn't expect from a big city

This hotel was a fantastic find. I booked it through work expecting a lesser experience but was very pleasantly surprised. The staff was all kind, helpful, and quick, the rooftop bar was a great spot to relax and take in the city skyline, and the room was large, clean, and comfortable. A couple shout outs, Nicole on the rooftop is fantastic to chat with and very attentive. She had me laughing, learning, and enjoying a “Chicago handshake.” There was a housekeeper that saw me on my way out on the third floor today. She asked if there was anything she could do to make the rooms better. Saying it’s her goal to ensure they are perfect for her guests. I was very impressed by her but missed her name. When I honestly said there was nothing she politely said if I think of anything to please let her know. That’s someone I would 100% want on my staff. The location was also wonderful, with lots to do in a walkable area, and relatively quick access to other parts of the city. I gave the rooms 4 stars only because there is some hvac or water noise that is relatively continuous. It’s a lower hum, but noticeable when the tv is off. Earplugs are provided in the room, but it wasn’t bad enough to need them to sleep.

Greeted with warm welcome by receptionist Daleros (probably misspelled). She made check in process easy and fast. Room was spacious and cleaned when arrived. Loved the street view. Not enough lighting in the bedroom. Note, they have $50 valet parking since it’s not a friendly parking area. They have a beautiful rooftop restaurant/bar with view of Chicago.
